Description
The Broke Road Shared Path project aimed to enhance the local infrastructure and promote safe, sustainable transportation for both pedestrians and cyclists. Located along Broke Road, this project sought to improve access for cyclists in the region and link key community areas such as parks, residential zones, and commercial hubs.
The Broke Road Cycleway project presented several challenges typical of infrastructure works in an active and populated area. One key challenge was minimising disruption to local residents and businesses, particularly when integrating the new cycleway with existing driveways and ensuring continued access. Managing traffic flow and maintaining safety during road crossing installations also posed significant challenges, requiring careful coordination and communication with the community.
This shared path provided long-term benefits by encouraging eco-friendly transportation and improving community connectivity.
